PRP is a natural product created from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube that is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma (the clear fluid). This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) based cosmetic treatments have received a tremendous amount of media attention because its ability to completely rejuvenate the face, resulting in firmer younger looking skin.
Under this procedure we utilize Microneedling to “stamp” the skin creating tiny channels along the surface. Then PRP is applied topically to the skin, allowing the full penetration of PRP deep down into the dermis and epidermis layers of the skin.
Topically applying PRP enables it to get into more planes in the skin, compared to injections where the PRP is isolated to the injected area. Thus the microneedling allows PRP to get into the skin more evenly affecting the total face.
